Baili·Jianji is a spatial branding project combining a boutique guesthouse and teahouse in Datong’s ancient city. Guided by the concept “Seeing Datong through light and shadow, seeing the self within Baili,” the brand translates local culture, nature, and inner perception into a contemporary experience.

The identity is structured around two interconnected ideas: Baili as a place where nature and history reside, and Jianji as an inward act of seeing. Through restrained use of light, time, and negative space, the environment is conceived not as a destination, but as a process—allowing reflection to emerge through stillness.

Rather than asserting form, Baili·Jianji creates resonance. By reducing visual noise and emphasizing calm and presence, the brand enables culture to be quietly experienced, and the self to be momentarily revealed.
